Saturday - February 28 - will be the final day of Public Skate at the Rink for the 08/09 season.

Last chance for a final "spin on the ice" !! Noon-5pm or the Grand Finale evening session - 6-9 pm (bon-fire & one more cup of hot chocolate !!).

Hockey News

HOCKEY PLAYERS !!

We're rolling into our regular schedule for Friday-Sunday (weather permitting) & will plan to roll with our holiday schedule on special weekends..

Hope you can make it up to the rink - bring some friends!!!

Our Christmas Skate Camp (ages 7-14) was a great success - Dec. 29 - 31. We sent flyers to the schools. For news on hockey league schedules or participation in pick-up hockey on a drop-in basis, call - 926-2494 (Rec. office) or 926-1715 (rink).

Please Note: RINK UNDER MAINTENANCE / MONDAY - THURSDAY

We will be shaving down the ice sheet on Monday (weather permitting) to prepare for the installation of the new matting material (no more ice painting!!!).

This work will require several days to complete with plans to start re-building the entire ice sheet Wednesday night and continuing thru Thursday night. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !

During this 4-day period it will be necessary to suspend the pick-up sessions, Stick Time, and youth hockey practice.

We are shooting to be back on our regular schedule by next Friday.

This Year's Adult Hockey League
There will be two teams formed by Redding players and two teams formed from the Mt. Shasta area players. There will be a minimum of ten players on each team.

There will be three 18-minute periods.

All games are still on Saturday Morning! The first game starts at 8:15am. The second game starts at 9:30am. We have the ice from 8am-11am on Saturday Mornings.

My name is Blaire Barton and I am a passionate and energetic Sr. Level figure skater, performer and instructor. I have been coaching for 8 years and enjoy sharing my love for skating though teaching. I also do professional figure skating and have traveled throughout South Korea, Europe and Scandinavia with "Magic on Ice" and "Disney on Ice." I coach figure skating as well as hockey and enjoy working with all ages of ice skating lovers. I look forward to coaching and meeting all the new faces this year! Rink Programs

Rink programs include pick-up hockey, skills workshops, stick-time (when hockey sticks and pucks are allowed on the ice-helmets required), and special events. The public is invited to any of these activities.

Lessons

Public Skate

Public Skate Sessions are times when anyone of any age or ability can skate. Your saftey is our #1 priority, so we recommend that all beginning skaters wear helmets (some bike helmets are available).
